Football is an agent of social transformation
I want to state in advance that football is an agent of social transformation, by keeping boys and girls away from violence.
Violence in Brazil
In 2020, the country recorded 43,892 violent deaths, a very high rate, victims of intentional homicide, robbery and bodily harm resulting in death.
This is a sad fact for our country, especially if we take into account that violence has increased and not decreased.
The murder rate grew by 5% in 2020.
Drugs
A survey carried out in Brazil in 2019 by the Oswaldo Cruz Institute showed that around 3,563 people had used drugs.
Research shows that on average, people first try an illicit drug at the age of 16.
However, in 2021 what we have seen is an increase in chemical dependency, and unfortunately even among children.
However, football is an agent of social transformation.
Fields spread across the poorest neighborhoods
Every time there is a soccer field in a neighborhood, you will find children playing soccer there.
All that is needed is for this field to be in playing condition, and children will gather there to play football.
Sometimes the field is made by the residents themselves, who take advantage of a piece of land and build goalposts for the children.
Lack of urban planning hinders
Planning is rarely done with the aim of providing sports to the neighborhood's population in mind; more houses are thought of to earn more money.
When Germany won the World Cup, a report showed how much was invested in fields across the country.
Encouraging children to play football, a long-term plan, which has brought good results to the country.
Not only for the 2014 World Cup, but for keeping their children away from drugs and violence in general.
Football schools that think about the social side
Football schools have spread across the country in recent years, charging around R$80.00 per child.
Teachers teach the art of playing football throughout the country. I would like to suggest that teachers organize trials in communities.
To discover talents, and to create a quota of students who will not pay the monthly fee, because they cannot afford it.
We live in a reality where R$ 80.00 in a budget will make a big difference, even more so with the increase in inflation that we have had.

In addition, these children will be monitored at their schools, as well as assisted with their urgent issues.
As sports equipment, as well as transportation to games, football is an agent of social transformation.
Children in football means children away from violence
The more we involve our children in sports, the more we will teach them important values.
Respecting others, fighting to get what you need, living with differences, dealing with defeats and victories, are some values.
Finally, may governments think more about our children, invest in sports, and prevent problems so as not to have to remedy them later.
Prevention is the best medicine.
